Project Server for Administrators

A 1-day, 6.5 PDU (0.65 CEU) Instructor-led Program

Project Server for Administrators is designed for those who will be responsible for administering and maintaining the Project Server. This advanced class assumes that users are already familiar with the general functions of Project Professional and Project Web Access.

Learning Curve will customize the program to match status of the client's implementation, whether in pilot or well into deployment. The program's design will reflect whether or not custom Enterprise Outline Codes have been defined, the OLAP cube has been generated, and custom Views have already been created. As the class size is usually small, there is normally time to address the specific issues of the participating administrators.

Upon completion, you will be able to:

  • Migrate projects and resources from previous versions of MS Project
  • Create user accounts and determine authentication and login procedures
  • Apply and modify security templates
  • Work with Categories and Groups to control access to data and features
  • Determine availability of features to the organization
  • Set defaults for Notifications and Reminder Service
  • Lock down tracking methods and period settings as appropriate
  • Generate an OLAP cube and create Portfolio Analyzer views
  • Create additional custom Views and define View access
  • Understand which settings are controlled by Enterprise Global and which by PWA Admin
  • Check-In Projects and Resources
  • Additional topics as requested

Who will benefit:

  • The program is intended for Project Server administrators and PMO staff who will be involved in configuring and maintaining the Project Server environment.
