A 2-day, 13 PDU (1.3 CEU) Instructor-led Program

Customizing the Project Server Environment is intended for those responsible for defining and configuring settings for Project Professional and Project Server. Often delivered during the pilot phase of a Project Server rollout, this course gives you the essential information you need to customize the enterprise environment for your organization. In addition to mastering basic functionality, key stakeholders will become familiar with the broad range of customization options available. Participants will leave with an in-depth understanding of which features can and should be customized to meet the company's objectives and deployment requirements.

In the process, you'll learn everything you need to know about Project Professional and Project Web Access - and how they work together in the Project Server environment.

Upon completion, you'll be able to

  • Establish project server defaults using the Enterprise Global Template
  • Understand the  relationship between Enterprise Global and the Global.mpt file
  • Understand the Differences between Custom Enterprise Fields and Enterprise Outline Codes
  • Use Enterprise Outline Codes to capture project "meta-data"
  • Understand how Enterprise Outline Codes interact with the OLAP Cube and Project Analyzer
  • Edit resource information in the Enterprise Resource Pool
  • Know which settings are controlled by Enterprise Global and which through Web Access Administration

In addition, you will learn

  • Publish projects to the server
  • Staff an enterprise project team using Team Builder
  • Publish team-member assignments and approve task-status updates
  • Use Resource Center and Project Center Views
  • Collaboration using Document Libraries, Issue Logs, and Status Reports
  • And much, much more!
